Jim P. McCormick

head of school

Jim P. McCormick has been discipling students and families in Christ-centered schools since 1999. Prior to being called to Classical School of Dallas, Jim served as the Head of School at Faith Christian School in Williams Bay, Wisconsin; having completed God's assignment: to lead FCS to earn its regional accreditation, implement key elements of a classical education, and to change the culture to a truly Christ-centered one.

Having grown up in Plano together, with their oldest daughter attending college in Dallas, and with family scattered all over DFW, Jim and his wife Dawn have been asking God to send these cold Texans back home. Not only that, they prayed that God would allow their youngest, Harper, to attend a Christ-centered, classical school after leaving Wisconsin.

Jim holds a Masters of Educational Leadership from Dallas Baptist University, has worked on multiple accreditation teams at Christian schools, and led the Logic and Rhetoric Schools at a classical, Christian school in East Texas. He loves discipling students, parents, and fellow-educators in every context that our schools provide.

Jim believes that Christ-centered, classical, collaborative education is the best, the very best, method of education to accomplish life’s ultimate goal, and this is his personal mission: All of life, every moment, is an opportunity for an image bearer, whether they are adopted into the family of God through salvation or they might soon be, to experience this: “One thing I have asked of the LORD, that will I seek after: that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to gaze upon the beauty of the LORD, and to inquire in His temple.” (Psalm 27:4)
