Revelation
Dear Classical Community,
What a beautiful world we live in. Yet it is dark; and it felt darker this week. The prince of the power of the air is allowed to work; and he does. We painfully felt that reality.
But our world is profoundly beautiful. God made it and He still reigns, holding that dragon of an enemy on a leash until the enemy’s head is ultimately crushed by the Lion of the Tribe of Judah.
The book of Revelation has served to embolden me and fill my heart with courageous hope this dark week. This is God’s light and truth; Jesus is already the risen, victorious, loving King:
“And the great dragon was thrown down, that ancient serpent, who is called the devil and Satan, the deceiver of the whole world…I heard a loud voice voice in heaven, saying, ‘Now the salvation and the power and the kingdom of our God and the authority of His Christ have come…[The dragon] knows his time is short.” (Revelation 12)
“Then I saw heaven opened, and behold, a white horse! The one sitting on it is called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he judges and makes war…and the name by which he is called is The Word of God…On his robe and on his thigh he has a name written, King of kings and Lord of lords.” (Revelation 19)
“Behold, the dwelling place of God is with man. He will dwell with them, and they will be his people, and God himself will be with them as their God. He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away… And he who was seated on the throne said, ‘Behold, I am making all things new.’” (Revelation 21)
“He who testifies to these things says, ‘Surely I am coming soon.’ Amen. Come, Lord Jesus! The grace of the Lord Jesus be with all. Amen.” (Revelation 22)
So as we wait for Him to come back for us, there is no place I would rather be than with you in the Christ-like community that is Classical School of Dallas. Classical Community, the darkness is overcome when we “Let [our] love be genuine. Abhor what is evil; hold fast to what is good. Love one another with brotherly affection. Outdo one another in showing honor.” (Romans 12) And this is the light and truth the dark world needs.
May the LORD God bless us and keep us, make his face to shine upon us and be gracious to us; may the LORD lift up His countenance upon us and give us peace. (Numbers 6)
Respectfully in Christ,
